AIM Case Studies
Here you will find a selection of
case studies that can be used as interactive case-based
learning tools. Some of these case studies were
used during the interactive workshop sessions
at the AIM Global Educational Meetings held in
early 2003. These cases, which are designed to
stimulate discussion, have been specially selected
by the AIM core faculty to highlight the importance
of using appropriate antibiotics early in nosocomial
infections and the potentially serious consequences
of using inappropriate therapy.
Please consult your national prescribing information for full details on
all medicines referred to in these case studies. Please note that not all uses of the medicines mentioned are
approved in all countries.
This section is based on real-life cases from a number of different countries. These case histories have been adapted for use as educational tools which focus on AIM core principles. The cases are not intended to represent examples of best clinical practice.
